April 2011 Purchases + Empties update + Inquiries

I'm so ashamed to say this, especially when it's already close to the end of May...

April was a very boring and slow month for me purchasing-wise and beauty-wise. I thought I would finish soo many products but I only came close. Even when the Sephora 15% off coupon came and gone, I didn't buy anything like I planned to! Shocking..I know =X

Seawon Glove Towel

I bought this while I was in the area (KTown in Manhattan) to look at dresses. I decided to finally take care of my body more especially since I have to wear a dress as opposed to comfortable hoodie and jeans (ahh :D). And I'm in desperate desire to get rid of my terrible farmer's tan that I STILL have on my arms (from 2 years ago) and my knee area (from last summer). Any suggestions?

Pink With a Splash Sweet & Flirty All-Over Body Mist

I had the special card from Victoria Secret that had the mystery amount for you to spend during the month of April. I forgot about it all month until the 29th and grabbed this since I wasn't as lucky and only got $10 to spend. I love the scent of this one! & It's purple ^__^

Even though I only bought two beauty related products, I still ended up spending quite a lot when I added up my total spendings. The main reason being: my prom dress. Ekk! Who knew dresses were so expensive (definitely not me a month ago lol). It wasn't what I imagined and looked at online, but of the ones that I saw in stores and of what could fit my figure...it's not bad. I think I'll live :P

I still need to shop for shoes..maybe accessories..a small bag..maybe makeup since most of my current bases are either too light or will cause flashback. Ah..so much money! I hope prom is fun so it'll make up for my current despair :P

Just looking for some suggestions,
What kind of eye makeup look/colors should I use? What will go well with this particular color?
Would black or silver shoes look better?

How were your prom experiences? :]

  3. Ahh Prom, it feels like decades ago for me :) You can wear smokey blue eyeshadow to complement the dress. Or you can go with something more classic, neutral smokey eyes and coral lips (popular for summer). Whatever you do, just have fun. Do post some pictures?

  6. Jennifer: LOL farmer's tan is when you get very noticeable tan lines from wearing clothes like tshirts and such. So for me my arms are one color towards my shoulder and another color from the bicep area to my wrists. My knees were one color until I went to the beach last summer with shorts that went up to my knees =X

  8. I personally would go for a silver look and silver shoes! Prom? Are you a junior too? hahaha Your dress looks gorgeous! I had a hard time shopping for my dress. For me, it turned to excitement to a hassle. tehehe I'm an impatient shopper. ^.^ But I just didn't want a short dress mainly because I didn't want to have to shave my legs. :)

BUT BUT.... my prom experience was AWESOMEE! hahah i'd just say, have fun, be free, and dance your heart out. It's no fun if you don't dance. SO bring out your smexyy movess... jk jk

  9. Popcorn: I'm a senior :P Juniors at my school have a semi-formal (which I didn't go to so the more reasons for me to attend prom lol). I wouldn't mind short or long dress but I went to buy the dress with my mom and she decided that I should get a short dress because she thought I'd be clumsy and would fall from a long dress xD Ahh..the dancing part is going to be a problem! I'll have to practice...LOL

  10. Your prom dress is so pretty!! And I love those Asian towels. They are awesome for exfoliating. =)

  11. Shop N' Chomp: Thanks! It was what I was planning on getting but it's not too bad. :] I was very surprised when I first used the towel/glove! My skin was super soft & it got rid of a lot of dead skin (embarrassing to admit lol).

  12. the only thing i regret about prom was the dress i bought. i think looking back, i could and should have definitely bought a cheaper dress. i could never see myself wearing it again after so many years, which i think is a huge waste of money.

i bought one of those korean exfoliating towels a year ago. they are great!! makes your skin baby soft and smooth.

  13. a,: I was debating on that problem too! But a lot of the dresses that looked nice or prom-y & fitted me were all expensive ones. My dress isn't like the 300,400,500+ designer ones but it's still expensive! One of the suggestions that a few of my friends had were were return it afterwards =X I don't know how well that'll work, but crossing fingers! And I love the baby soft feeling after using the towels!! I was in shock at how soft and squeaky clean my skin could feel. The amount of dead skin, I assume, that I saw was scary!
