From The Polka-Dotted Apple :]

She is totally wrong! It isn't a failed attempted. The star is very cute :] Don't you guys agree?

Top Row L to R: Lovely Note, B&BW Black Amethyst Eau de Toilette Sample, Mystery?!
Bottom Row L to R: Loreal Colour Juice in Butterscotch Drop, baggie full of yummy candies :]

Inside red tissue paper: Sephora by OPI in Underwater Fantasy
Haven't tried it yet but I can't wait to :]

From Beauty Verdict :]

Top L to R: Banila Co. Let me bebe Sheer, Banila Co. Let me bebe Nude, Shu Uemura Skin Purifier, Charmzone Ginkgo Pure Foam Cleansing Cream, Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream

Collective Haul

I'm such a terrible blogger. I've mentioned this in most of my post :X I should blog more even if it's on little things. I feel so bad that people are following me but I have nothing to offer >__<

Originally I planned to update my hauls monthly but things didn't turn out that way :X This term at school has been really hectic. Just finished 2 AP exams (one physical exam and one portfolio). So I can relax for a little bit! However...in exactly 2 weeks I have to take the ever so stressful SAT II subject test. Not 1, not 2, but 3. Yeah...talk about pressure >__<>

Anyway, enough with my blabbering :] (They're kind of in the order that I bought them from.)

Shu Uemura Powder Sample that I got from a seller on soompi

I bought ZOYA in Miley and the seller included 2 freebies (C.O. Bigelow Rice & Bamber Gentle Dermabrasion and Honeysuckly & White Patchouli)

My first lush product: Porridge

NYX Concealer in a Jar in Beige
Found it at my local beauty supply store. They finally have it. When I first asked the owner if he was going to store this he told me Palladio is much better lol But I guess a lot of people were asking for it too? Excited to use it but it has a perfume-y smell :X

L to R: Natural Bristle Brush, Bastise Dry Shampoo
I've heard that natural bristle brush is good for oily hair (it makes mine really static-y) & I really like the dry shampoo but I found that I use it up pretty quickly >__<

Cure Aqua Gel Sample bought from a soompi seller in HK
I was kind of skeptical because my TFS one doesn't really work but Bubs recommended it...so I got sucked in LOL It actually IMO works better than TFS peeling gel. I'm still debating whether or not to invest in the fullsize.

First Amore store haul (went to the one in Flushing)
Top Row - L to R: Pore Clear Cleansing Foam Sample x2, Pore Trouble Emulsion Sample x3, Water Sleeping Pack Plus, Pore Clear Cleansing Foam full sized, Pore Trouble Skin Refiner full sized, Pore Trouble Emulsion full sized
Bottom Row - L to R: Eye Designer Cream Sample x11, Star White Multi Protector Sample x2
I had my dad drive me all the way to Flushing to buy this LOL (Actually I didn't buy the cleansing foam from there I ordered it from a really nice seller on soompi, the rest were from the actual store) I bought the Refiner and Emulsion and the nice lady bombarded me with samples :] I felt so happy. But of course, the stuff was pretty expensive compared with the skincare that I bought before. However, I don't regret it because it's my skin and it's been terrible so I'm willing to invest in it. If things turn out well I would probably repurchase. Still in the process of determining that :]

Lush Sweet Lips Lip Scrub
Second lush product! I think you really need to use this daily for terrible flakey skin like mine. It taste really nice! lol The other scents turned my off because I personally don't like mint or bubblegum (strange yes I know)

Top Row: 5 TFS Essential Mask Sheet Pearl - GWP over $50
Bottom Row L to R: TFS White Mud Nose Pack, TFS Clean Face Post Acne Nighttime Spot Eraser
You're probably thinking...those 2 products were $50?! No, they were not LOL I also helped my friend by some things. But of course, I lost it at the bookstore -.-;; And I bought it with my money so not only did I not get the stuff for my friend, but I lost $28 as well. Teaches me a lesson to have the money first before I help people buy things in case things like this happen again. But then...she's my BFFL so...it doesn't really matter LOL This haul was SOO influenced by xppinkx. Even though I can't stand the pain from peel off masks I was still itching to try it. It did get a lot of gunk out, no joke, but not everything. Might have to use this a couple of times a week to achieve desired results if you have a ton of blackheads/whiteheads like me.

Clean & Clear Finishes Pore Perfecting Moisturizer
This was influenced by MakeupbyTiffanyD. I wasn't planning on getting this until I started my Laneige Emulsion because I've heard that its too oily to wear in the morning but I was too impatient :X Will try to write about how it is when I start to use it.

Top Row L to R: Nars Sheer Glow in Punjab, Dr.Brandt Pores No More Vacum Cleaner
Bottom Row L to R: Sephora Daily Makeup Brush Cleaner, Sephora Nails Dissolvant Nail Polish Remover
I think Punjab is a bit too dark for me? Or maybe it oxidized...It looks spot on in Sephora and when I got home it looked a bit browner? (IDK I'm terrible at describing things) That was also by first time getting foundation applied Lol That's how much of a makeup newbie I am :] (This happened yesterday BTW) I also tried the brush cleaner when I got home. It isn't great but it's okay for spot cleaning. Definitely need to deep clean though. And..I got the Dissolvant because of cl2425. And it does work really quickly. However, it left a really weird sticky residue on my hand (idk...will try it again another time)

Cocoa Butter Formula Swivel Stick
Bought from my local beauty supply store. It's the only place where I've seen it. I got this after remember another blogger write about how great it is. And I must say it leaves my lips really soft :] But when I lick my lips and wipe it off, all the chapped skin that was on my lips just kind of clumps together and looks really gross. I think this would work really well if there was no flakey skin. Should definitely try! ^__^ And it's pretty big compared to regular lip balms (i.e. Chapstick and Softlips) so it might be a bit difficult/awkward to apply.

Giveaway alert!

I haven't blogged in 2 months! It's terrible, I know. But I will try to blog more after June is over (when school ends >__<) I have so many haul pictures to post up to keep track of my beauty spendings. Ahh! So hectic. Sorry again! Feeling Slightly Relieved

High school students in the U.S. are probably familiar with all the stress of junior year. One of the major stress contributor is the SAT. A standardized test that us students should try and do very well on if we want to go into a "good" college. To prove we have the ability to take a test under time pressure. I'm not sure if other countries also have to take these kind of tests. But they probably take something similar. (I'm assuming.)

March is one of the less hectic months this year. So I chose to take it this month. Some other classmates that were also taking it this month took a day off yesterday to cram vocabulary (it's a pretty big portion of the test). I wonder how they did...maybe all that extra cramming helped? My short vocab cramming definitely didn't help me much. Whenever I got to one that I really didn't understand, I chose not to answer it. Better than getting 1/4 point deducted for a wrong answer. One of the vocabulary questions had Anna Sui in it :P I just felt like throwing that in. It was amusing when I was reading that problem ^__^ The test itself was kind of like the practice ones that I was given at the prep school that I went to. It was a bit more nerve wrecking since this was the actual test that was going to determine my future (so important!). And like on the practice exams, I wasn't able to finish my essay. I was close but no dice. I just hope with all my might that it doesn't affect my score too much. It was a rather hard topic to discuss about too. Ahh..thinking back the English section (Reading, Writing, Essay) is really going to bring down my score. The math sections on the other hand were kind of easy IMO. But I could be wrong. Better not jinx anything...it was average :]

Now I'm going to be on the edge of my seat waiting for the scores to come out. I don't even know how long it usually takes for the scores to release. If anyone knows, can you tell me? The only good thing is if my score isn't as expected, I can take it 1 more time before college applications in September. But the only downside to that is...the possibility of doing worse than before >__<

Sorry if this post wasn't very interesting. I just felt like it belonged since it's my first time taking the SAT and this blog is filled with my firsts. ^__^ You're very welcomed to share your test taking experiences :]

Another Year Older + Small Bday Haul

Today felt like any other day. The only difference was it's my birthday. Unlike when I was little, I had no party and didn't hang out with friends. Instead, I did what I also do on Saturdays and went out for dinner with most of my family. Why most and not all? My uncle, grandma, and mom are all angry with each other and got into a huge fight over something that others would think is really stupid. Usually, when my family members get into fights, they would still go to each others' house for dinner or go out to each together for someone's birthday...but this time my uncle, his wife, and my baby cousin didn't come. Gee what a great way to say Happy Birthday. Here's your present, but I'm not going to celebrate your birthday with you. Yes, birthdays are supposed to be a happy occasion. Even if I don't do anything exciting, I still want to enjoy a meal with my family. But it didn't happen. And I think the situation got even worse. Now my parents aren't planning to go to my uncle's wife's birthday dinner because they didn't come to mine. Boy...and I thought kids were immature and are vengeful. I hope things get better. I hate seeing my family fight and getting all upset with each other. Ruin my big happy family picture :X

-----------------

Onto something more beauty/present related :]
Very teeny weeny birthday haul.

Top: Sephora Birthday Gift
Bottom L to R: Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in Sand & Korres Lip Butter in Jasmine

Inside look at the lip butter before I start to use it.
Doesn't it look all pretty? Tempting isn't it :P

I didn't get any presents, just birthday money for I good luck (I think since it was in a red envelope and all).
I did mention to my mom about getting a DSLR but I'm probably not going to be getting that. I'd be ecstatic but would feel bad because those are pretty expensive.

So yes...my happy, happy birthday.
I think the happiest parts of my birthday was when I was napping lol
Nothing to worry about but be happy for me.
Did any of you guys have bad celebration experiences?

Excitement

Last night, I'm sure many of you probably were watching the Olympics. Honestly, when it comes to the Winter Olympics, I usually look forward (and ended up only watching) the women's figure skating portion. When I was little, I watched it because Michelle Kwan was in it. This time, I was really looking forward to seeing Kim Yuna. And there was no disappointment. She won! I was really excited. I'm no skating expert, nor do I follow every skating event there is...but I don't know, I just really liked her program :] I still would love to see Michelle Kwan skate though, it's been years (makes me sound so old :X)! Maybe they could skate together or in the same event at some point in the future? ^__^

Second exciting news!
Today was a snow day for NYC students. This might not sound really exciting for others who get snow days often. But in NYC, unless there is like a ridiculous amount of snow, it is snowing really hard, etc. school is always open. For as long as I can remember, we've only had a maximum of 1 snow day per school year. This year there were 2 (so far). I thought it was highly unlikely that Mayor Bloomberg would cancel school...but I guess the impossible can happen :]

I first heard about this great news at around 5:30 in the morning. Yes, you heard right..5:30. I was still sleeping when my friend sent me a text message telling me the news. It was hard to process in my half-asleep state. I think a lot of people would jump up for joy and forget about sleeping, but honestly, a part of me thought "really? I don't believe it!". I think I'm the only person that'll question a snow day :P

----------

One not so happy news. Especially for 2pm fans.
I couldn't believe it when I read about it.
And a part of me still doesn't believe it.
But...Park Jaebeom
Leader of 2pm
Is not going to be a part of 2pm again :(
Apparently, he did something that is worse than the internet comments he made so many years ago
And they can't tell us why because of personal reasons(?)
But then they still continued to plan for his comeback until recently,
They decided to terminate their contract with him.
Unless I'm not reading their notice correctly...I'm really lost.
Now even the slight hope that I had is crushed.

So..how was your Friday? :]

Happy Lunar New Year!

Happy New Year!
Wish everybody good health and a prosperous year :] (It sounds much better in Chinese. It doesn't sound as smooth in English. lol)

and...

Happy Valentine's Day!

and...

One year mark for me since I got my braces off! ^__^ How exciting. Exactly one year! After around 3-4 years I finally was able to get it taken off last valentine's day.

----------

Also!!!

I was tagged last month by Tammy to do a color tag. It was hard because I don't have many red objects in my room. So a couple of days ago when I finally had the time to, I searched high and low and dug through my things and found some red things to show you guys :] It's not very exciting though, please bare with me!

A heart nightlight that I got when I was maybe...8 or 9 from Ikea.
*Shh don't tell anyone but I'm afraid of the dark! :X

A heart pillow that I think I got from a street fair a couple of years ago.
I have too many stuffed animals and such to remember where I got each one from!

Minnie & Mickey that I got from Disney Land in California 2 years ago during spring break. The first time I went to Disney and the first time I was with my family in California :]

I cheated. The stars aren't red, they're pink. But the bottle I promise is red! I use to fold a lot of stars. I have accumulated too many to continue that hobby.

A very cute stuffed animal that my friend gave me for Christmas in middle school. It isn't red but it's collar and tag is! Who doesn't love to see cute stuffed animals?! :P

Now I tag anyone else to would like to do it :]
The color I choose is...purple!

Winner!?

A couple of months ago...
I won a giveaway hosted by Treasure Trove of Makeup.
I received the package a while ago, took pictures, and even uploaded them. But I have yet to blog about it. Shows how great of a blogger I am. >__<

Yummy chocolate :] The accessories are really cute but I'm not confident enough to wear such bold accessories. Hmm need to overcome it so I can wear them!

I love cards! Especially ones that have writing in it :]

Jemma Kid Blush Concentrate in 01 Pose
My first blush.

Sleek Bronze Baby Face & Body Highlighter
My first Highlighter/Bronze

GOSH Extreme Art Eye Liner L to R: 24, 20, 06 10 and GOSH Nail Lacquer in 546 Rainbow
My first eyeliners. Such pretty colors!

Jane Iredale chocolicks Caramel
Smells just like caramel (oblivious :P) very yummy. I want to eat it more than apply it on my lips!

L to R: Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Plump Perfect Moisture Cream SPF15, Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules, Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Gold Ultra Lift and Strengthening Eye Capsules
Does anyone know how to use the capsules? I'm not too sure if these are for my skin type since I'm only in my teens >__> Maybe I'll see if my aunt can put these to good use.

Loreal Paris Eyeshadow
I'm not sure what the name is because there's a barcode sticker right on top of the label.
My first eyeshadow.

I think this package was really great. I'm a total makeup newbie and all I have was base products like primers/bases, BB Cream, a couple of lip products. Now I have so many new things to try. Thank you for the great giveaway. I still can't believe I won. ^__^

January Haul

Yes, a haul post again. Doesn't seem very exciting. But my spending journal needs to be...updated. I will try my best to post up a review soon. I even wrote down my thoughts! Just have to find time to type it all out :] Enough with things that I keep saying I will do (:X). Here's what I hauled in January:

Kose Cosmeport Softymo Speedy Cleansing Oil
I was finishing up the Mandom Cleansing Express Sebum so I thought I'd try out different cleansing oils again.

Hurricane Nail Art Paint
Bought this at the beauty supply store in my neighborhood. I didn't have anything like this before and I wanted to try something new. Not sure how it compares to Art Deco, but this chipped within a day or two (I only used it as a French tip though.)

MAC Fix+
Usually, people get the Evian Water Facial Spray after they finish their Fix+, but I did it the other way around. I felt it was a bit on the expensive side, but there are better things added to it when compared to the Evian spray (which is apparently just mineral water?). And I don't use it as much so I think it'll last a long time :]

Maybelline Pure Concealer in Light
I went into the local pharmacy in search of the SkinMD Shielding Lotion but I couldn't find it on the shelves. Instead, I saw this. I'm having a bit of a concealing craze right now. And it says it has salicylic acid. I couldn't resist :X Will see how this goes. I know big chain drugstores don't sell these anymore but it's still on the Maybelline website (the last time I checked.)

SkinMD Natural Shielding Lotion
All those reviews on this sucked me in. I was going to wait and see if I would be lucky enough to win a giveaway. But...when I went to the pharmacy that the site said carried it and saw that it was nearly half the price I couldn't resist. I plan to use this after I finish my current moisturizer. I hope it works well for me.

I think I did pretty well at controlling my spendings. Compared to previous months. I don't think I'm going to be buying much unless I finish a product (skincare wise) or use up a noticeable amount (makeup wise). Need to help my parents save up money because they're going to start remodeling/rebuilding the new house in the spring and they'll need all the money they have. Can't spend money on things that'll make me happy because the house will make everyone happy. At least I hope so. Family relationships with relatives have gotten very bad within the last couple of months. But that's for another post if I feel angered enough that I need to rant.

Tagged

Oh I'm a terrible blogger! I have so many things I said I was going to blog about and NEVER ended up doing it. My bad procrastinating habits are showing even online! Before I totally forget about this, I was tagged by Treasure Trove of Makeup to do 7 facts about me :] I felt so special & excited, my first tag. I really gave a lot of thought into it, hope it doesn't bore anyone.

1. I have lived in NYC all my life. An exciting city (I guess), but I think there's still a lot of places I haven't been to that everyone from out of the city has probably been to.

2. I'm very shy around people I just met and even to my teachers who I'm with for about 6 hours 5 days a week with. But when I'm with my family and close friends, it's a whole different story :]

3. I'm chinese. My family speaks Toisanese (is that how it is in English?). But I'm very into Korean and a little bit of Japanese culture. My parents think I'm a little weird for being so interesting in other cultures. Especially when they hear me listening to music that's of a different language :\

4. I'm a big kid. I think everyone is inside. Just to shy to show it to everyone? I don't know. But I personally would watch Disney movies, cartoons, & other movies targeted towards children over other movies. That doesn't mean I don't love comedies and action movies though. ^__^ Oh yeah, I can't stand scary movies. Yes, half the time it's totally fake. But it seems so real, I get nightmares!

5. My very first roller coaster ride was during my 8th grade senior trip to Six Flags. My friends all wanted to ride the Nitro, so of course they dragged me with them. It was terrifying! But a fun experience (at the end when I got off). I still can't believe my very quiet friend who sat next to me, did not scream or even make a noise next to me!

6. I'm a very indecisive person. If I go out to eat, 99% of the time I will not know what to order. Also as of right now, I do not have a clue on what I want to major in or what career I want to be in when I grow up. And I have to make a decision on what college to go to by next year! Ahh, so stressful.

7. I love to use smileys to express how I feel when I'm typing. So if I comment and you see ^__^, >__<;;, :], etc. don't mind me. It makes me feel like I get my feelings across :]

I think I jumbled lots of facts into those 7!

I tag: 1. Catalina of cl2425
2. Jennifer of lifeandlensofbeauty
3. Maggie of The Polka-Dotted Apple
4. Mona of Make Me Blushhh
5. Mel of LaBelleMEL
6. Christy of w0ngturn
7. Tammy of tummycake

My New Baby

No, I didn't have a child...silly!
My new baby is the Wacom Bamboo Fun :)

I asked my parents for one a while ago because I really wanted to do some digital artwork for my AP Studio Art 2D class at school. My mom finally agreed to get one for me over the holiday break (which is coming to an end). We went the other day to a Best Buy in Staten Island but they had all of the other Bamboos except for the Fun. My mom said I could go with my dad to another Best Buy that was closer to where we lived to get it if they had it. We went today and obviously, there it was ^__^ I was so happy. It was kind of expensive so I'm considering it as my early birthday present? :P Now I really need to stop asking my parents to get me things unless I really absolutely positively need it. (Which reminds me...I need to put up a new year's resolution post!) Anyways, enough of me talking. Here come pictures! Can't wait to play with it tomorrow.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone has a great new year. 2010 here we all come! :]
Time sure flies by. Doesn't feel like it's Jan 1 2010.
Doesn't feel any different...then again only 9 minutes have passed :P
