Swatch: Orly Galaxy Girl

I was so excited when I saw this at my local CVS. Many people have said that this is a close dupe of MAC's Formidable! I do not own that one because I felt it was too expensive at the time and when I saw comparisons I thought that I'd just get this instead when I find it. I believe this came out even before MAC's Disney collection so my CVS is very very slow at release out new products like this. Thankfully I discovered this early because I went back a week or so later and didn't see that many polishes in the collection, Cosmic FX.

Base Coat + One Layer of polish
Take with flash and under artificial lighting


Base Coat + 2 Layers of polish + Top Coat

The colors are pretty true to how it is in real life. I was a little disappointed that it came out to look more like a dark red/blood/wine color because I really liked the purple duo-chrome shade it was in the bottle. But it is very pretty none-the-less. This polish is definitely on the sheer side and requires 2 thick coats or 3 medium coats otherwise you'll have a lot of streakiness like the first picture has. I don't remember how long this particular nail polish lasted on me because I wore this about a month ago =X I'll update on this detail when I wear Galaxy Girl again.

    looks like a beautiful duochrome in the bottle! <3 sorry to hear it being captured like blood wine color >_< sometimes cameras don't capture the duochromes well...

    Jennifer: It's actually roughly that color in real life as well! If only it showed up more like the last picture in real life :P

    Thanks for the swatches! It does look pretty sheer but it's still a beautiful shade :)

    ryc: yes, Taipei is def not for people who are weight conscious. Too much food temptations :P

    Lam Lam: Hi ^__^ Thanks for commenting :] It's a very different color than what I'm use to wearing. I only started to try darker colors after trying one that my friend had. It looked really nice so I went ahead and bought some myself. Usually I tend to buy more pastel shades (purples/pinks/some blues). You should definitely try some!

    DinaXYYan: Yup! But I think this would fit the colder weather more. When I wore this particular shade in the sunny weather it looked out of place lol

    Rainy Days and Lattes: It could be both..Since purple is just a mix of both red and blue. This one could just have a lot of red in it. :P

    this nail polish looks like a lot of work before it appears to work like what u wanted :/ yeah sometimes i can't tell if a blush is cool toned or warm toned but then some shades are def. cool when u look at them XD i can't explain...hmmm :D

    wow these are really daring colors to wear! (I'm lame and never dared to wear reds on my nails XD)

    to answer your question, lancome compact itself is about $46... =X not cheap at all... plus you have to purchase the case separately =__= so around total of $60? might as well just get a liquid foundation so you wouldn't have to pay for the case that will be useless once you run out of the compactXD

    OMG what you describes was exactly what I experienced in Taiwan!!!!!! those DISGUSTING little black specks!!!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! yeah they smudge when I rub my face as well! it's so scary to think that we actually breathe these stuff in.... what are they?!?!?!?! O______________O|||| haha my face and neck are different colors too but my face is just redder so it's not too bad. but BB creams do make me look paler... not a big deal here cuz Taiwanese girls like to use foundations that are like a shade lighter than their skin color O_O (I worry the day I return to the US that these will be too pale lol) Did you ever end up getting the sample from Chanel? Just curious cuz if I haven't bought these foundations here I'd probably ended up buying the Chanel foundation. Bobbi Brown's liquid foundation is nice too if you want to go ask for a sample :D
